DIN ball valves
Ball valves are fittings with a perforated ball inside. Due to their design, the valve can be fully opened or closed with just a 90° turn. This is a major advantage over gate valves or globe valves. Ball valves are available in full bore and reduced bore versions.

Ball valves are low-maintenance fittings with full bore openings that offer minimal flow loss and high sealing performance thanks to a rotatable ball. Optimized flow through full bore design
Full bore ball valves have a ball opening that matches the inner diameter of the pipe. This results in minimal flow loss—ideal for high flow rates and piggable systems.
Temperature-resistant and flexible in sealing design
Depending on temperature requirements, soft-seated or metal-seated options are available. Soft-seated versions can be used up to approximately 200 °C, while metal seats are suitable for significantly higher temperatures—individually tailored to your application.
Easily automated and quick to operate
Ball valves can be opened and closed in just 90 degrees using a handle, gearbox, or actuator—faster than many other valve types. They are bidirectional and ideally suited for automated processes.

Floating Ball or Trunnion Mounted Ball
In a floating ball valve, the ball is pressed against the opposite sealing surface by the medium itself. In contrast, a trunnion-mounted ball valve features a ball supported by pins within the body. Here, the fluid flow pushes the seal against the ball due to the fixed support.
Differences Between 2-Way and 3-Way Ball Valves
✓ 2-way ball valves are absolute classics. This ball valve type features one inlet and one outlet, allowing flow to be switched between only two paths.
✓ 3-way ball valves have, in addition to the inlet and outlet, an extra connection point. This allows an additional pipeline to be connected to the ball valve. Using an L-port, the desired flow outlet can be selected.

The ball valve is available in a wide range of sizes and pressure ratings, with flanged or welded ends, and comes in one-piece, two-piece, or three-piece body designs. Operation of the ball valve can be done via a manual lever, handwheel, electric actuator, or pneumatic actuator.

Ball Valve for Chlorine Applications
Chlorine, hydrogen, caustic soda, and sodium chloride are fluids that require special valve properties. Hastelloy C-276, along with numerous other special materials like titanium or Inconel, are used in these applications. For these demanding conditions, we not only use PTFE as a sealing material but also rely on metal-to-metal sealing seats with Stellite 20/21 overlays. The metal-sealing design allows for a temperature range of up to 400°C. Depending on requirements, all wetted parts can be manufactured from special materials.
